Applicants must apply for a business license either by mail or in person at: 9800 Godwin Drive, Manassas, VA 20110 Ph: 703-257-8214. Businesses located at residential addresses must also obtain a Home Occupation Permit or Non-Residential Use Permit from Community Development. The owner name, trade name, business address, nature (description) of business, estimated first year gross receipts, and begin date must be supplied to the Commissioner of the Revenue in order to obtain a business license. Examples of business tangible personal property include desks, chairs, other furniture, computer hardware, specialized tools, machinery, and equipment.

Business Personal Property Return

$3.70 per $100 of assessed value on furniture, fixtures and equipment, $1.25 on computer equipment, and $3.25 on business motor vehicles.
