On July 1, 2012 the City of Manassas Fire and Rescue System entered into a contract with Intermedix for EMS Billing services. During the same month, several new policies and procedures regarding EMS Billing were adopted by the Fire and Rescue Committee, including SOP 2.56 EMS Rate Schedule, which outlines the EMS rates.

The Patient Rights and Complaint Process (Standard Operating Procedure 2.57) outlines the policy to protect a patient's rights and the manner in which complaints are processed. Additionally, the Notice of Privacy Practices was updated.

New forms have been made available to patients including a hardship waiver for EMS billing, and a patient (or patient representative) request for report. All requests for reports must be accompanied by an Authorization to Release Confidential Information.
