If you see hydrants that seem to turn on by themselves on King Carter St., Kao Circle, Mathis Ave., or Quarry Rd., do not be concerned. The City has installed 4 automatic hydrant flushers to keep chlorine residual from settling. They will flush at 10 PM, 12 AM, 2 AM, and 4 AM. Read More

Cable TV Franchise Renewals

The City of Manassas has cable franchises with both Verizon FIOS and Comcast/Xfinity.  These franchises will expire in 2023.  Cable franchises are heavily regulated by both the Federal and State government which limits the authority of the City of Manassas. We are now in the window of time to begin the franchise renewal process and the City is seeking public input regarding both franchise renewals.  Please review the information on the website, fill out one or both of the surveys, and provide any additional comments.  We thank you in advance for your assistance.

“Show your Manassas pride by reserving a special Virginia license plate commemorating the City’s 150^th anniversary in 2023.  You can choose either non-personalized plates for $25 or personalized plates for $35.  Citizens can preorder the license plate one of many ways:

• Go online and submit the completed form and payment through the “150^th License Plate Preorder” Program
• Email jgriffith@manassasva.gov to request a copy or download the preorder form here.  Mail completed applications and check/money order payments to address provided on the form
