What is/is not accepted?
Examples of items ACCEPTED include: book cases, cabinets, chairs, dressers, dishwashers, sofas, tables, treadmills, washers and dryers, small rolls of carpet.
Examples of items NOT ACCEPTED include: ammunition, antifreeze, auto parts, cement/stone/pavers/brick, chemicals, dirt/sod/sand, TVs/computers, mowers, tires, fallen tree limbs/stumps, large amounts of construction debris (all nails must be removed prior to pickup).
Please note that TVs and computers must be separately scheduled for collection.
What about glass items?
The City of Manassas accepts glass as scheduled bulk waste. Here's how to set it out:
All glass that is scheduled for collection must be packed in cardboard, sealed closed with tape, and labeled "GLASS". Unpacked or loose glass will not be collected.
How many items can I leave out for pickup?
There is a limit of three (3) items per household per scheduled pickup.
How can I schedule bulk waste/large item curbside pickup?
Call 703-257-8252 before 2 p.m. at least 24 hours before your trash collection day. Please place your bulk waste/large item(s) out for pickup the night before collection.

When is the courtesy truck offered?
The courtesy truck can be reserved and used by the public between April 1 - September 30.
What can I use the courtesy truck for?
Large amounts of household trash, yard waste, construction debris.
How much does the courtesy truck cost?
A courtesy truck costs $225. The truck will be delivered and parked between 3:00-3:30 p.m. and picked up the following day between 6:00-7:00 a.m. Weekend rentals are delivered on Friday and picked up on Monday morning. Availability is subject to change.
Please note that for the health and safety of our crew and yourself, please do not over-stack the truck. Any inappropriate materials or over-stacking will be removed from the truck and not hauled away.
When are the Courtesy Trucks delivered?Courtesy Trucks are delivered at the end of the working day.
During the week, trucks are delivered and parked between 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. and picked up the next day between 6:00 - 7:00 a.m. Weekend rentals are delivered on Friday and picked up on Monday morning. Please understand that these trucks are an active part of the Street Department fleet and availability is subject to change.
