COVID-19 TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTION AND SCHEDULE CHANGES
Please be advised that there has been a dramatic increase in cases of COVID-19 among trash and recycling crews. We are working with our contractor to make sure that collections continue throughout the City as cases of COVID-19 rise in our area.

  • YARD WASTE – Do not set out loose branches and large amounts of yard waste at one time. Please limit yard waste to smaller bundles and 5 bags per week.
  • TIMING – Smaller crews working means that collections may begin earlier and run later. Please set your trash and recycling out the night before your scheduled collection day.
  • LARGE ITEMS/BULK WASTE – Please call (703) 257-8252 to schedule all items that do not fit into your trash and recycling containers. Unscheduled items will not be collected.
We thank you for your patience during this time.

MANASSAS TRANSFER STATION
COVID-19 restrictions are in place at this facility.  All individuals visiting the facility must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while in the facility. When disposing of material, a hard hat, hi-visibility vest, safety boots, and safety glasses must be worn. There is no exception to this requirement. The Manassas Transfer Station is owned and operated by Waste Management.  The facility is primarily used for and by commercial vehicles daily for trash disposal. City of Manassas residents normally have permission to bring their trash to the facility during normal working hours. Please remember that this is a courtesy extended by Waste Management to City residents and their rules and restrictions must be adhered to when entering the facility.
