Actually - you don't.
The Trash and Recycling Program is an Enterprise Fund. The program does not draw any money from the General Fund that you pay your taxes into. Our program is run more like a small business within the City of Manassas - the program receives direct payments from residents and you pay for services through your utility bill - just like you pay for water, sewer, electric, and stormwater services.
Residential trash and recycling collection service fees have not been increased since 2016:
- $27.88 monthly for townhome collections
- $26.59 monthly for single-family homes
Our program has a working budget of $3.7 million which covers:
