How do I schedule a visit with/from the Fire and Rescue Department?
Members of the City of Manassas Fire and Rescue System welcome the opportunity to visit with members of the community. Our program includes school presentations, community events (with apparatus), and station tours. Presentations to school-age children focus on age-appropriate fire safety and prevention information. For younger children, fire and rescue crews will teach basic fire safety as well as show the trucks and dress out in full firefighter gear. It is an important aspect of the public education program to emphasize to children that firefighters are their friend; they should not be feared in an emergency.
Station tours are popular with daycares, school groups, scout troops and birthday parties. During tours, crews will show you around the station while discussing fire safety and protective gear used by firefighters.
It is extremely important to remember that fire and rescue crews attending public education events (whether at the station or in the community) are on duty and must leave the event to respond, if dispatched, for an emergency.
Requesting a visit is easy; all requests are made online at the link below. You will be contacted by a member of the department to confirm your request.
