Check Your Voter Registration Status

If you don’t know whether you’re already a registered voter and want to check your registration status, you can:

• Check online at the Virginia Department of Elections
• Call the Office of Voter Registration at 703-228-3456
• Email the Office of Voter Registration and include your:
  • Full name
  • Current address
  • Last four digits of your Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Valid email address

But where’s my political party affiliation?  We do not register to vote by political party in Virginia, so this information doesn’t appear on your registration record. This means that any registered voter is eligible to vote in any primary election administered by the Office of Elections. If both the Democratic and Republican parties hold primaries on the same day, voters must choose which party ballot they wish to vote.
